Frequently Asked Questions

Keg Liquors Fest of Ale
Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the Fest of Ale?  It is a charity beer festival to help raise funds for the WHAS Crusade for Children. Last year we raised $17000.00 for the Crusade, and of course look to increase that donation amount this year.  Funds are raised through ticket sales for the event and through our raffle.
Day of event notes:
Before the event: Eat a good meal before you come and drink plenty of water. You never want to show up to an event like this with your tanks on empty.

At the event: please limit what you bring with you to a bare minimum. There is plenty of seating at the event. We also have a water truck from Indiana American Water on site to fill cups and water bottles.

No outside alcohol is allowed to be brought into the event and it will be confiscated by security at the gate.

This is a 21 and over event, so no children.

No alcohol is allowed to be carried out of the festival area.

Make sure you bring your ID. Everybody entering the event must be at least 21 years old and have your ID. This is state law.

Please bring cash for the food vendors and for the charity raffle. Remember, this is all for the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Please note that there is little chance that we will be able to respond the day of the event.
If you bought tickets online and have issues, please contact eTix support here:

If you purchased a ticket from Keg Liquors and have lost it, unfortunately there is nothing we can do to replace your ticket.  You must have a ticket to enter the event

What does my ticket get me?
Your tickets gets you entry into the event, an event wristband,  as well as a Fest of Ale tasting glass.  This gets you access to sample any of the beer, wine, cider, and mead in the event.  There are no drink tickets or vouchers to deal with.

Where is the festival held? The festival is held at The New Albany Riverfront Amphitheater.  The Address is 201 E. Water Street, New Albany, IN 47150

How do I get there?
Click on this link for a map of how to get to the event and where to park: 2019 Fest of Ale Parking. All parking in downtown New Albany is free.

How much are tickets? Tickets for the Fest of Ale are $40 in advance when purchased at either Keg Liquors location, $45 online and $55 the day of the event.   You can always stop by either Keg Liquors location the day of the event too.  We will post on our social media pages and on the main page of this site if there are no more tickets available.

What about designated drivers?  Designated drivers are highly encouraged.  They get into the festival for free, but do not get to sample any of the beer or wine at the event.  If you need a taxi, go to any of the volunteers at the event and we will call a taxi for you.

How much can I drink at the festival? This is NOT a “drink as much as you can in 4 hours” event. Anyone who appears to be intoxicated will be denied additional samples and may be deemed to be in violation of public intoxication statutes. Enjoy what you wish, but please be responsible.

How long is the festival? The festival runs from 3pm to 7pm. Our permit does not allow any pouring after 7pm. Please do not beg, plead, coax, implore, beseech, wheedle, or cajole for more beer.

Do you need volunteers? Every festival needs
knowledgeable volunteers for setup, pouring, silent auction, etc.  We'll have signups as we get closer to the event

What about children or animals?  The event is for 21 and older, so please leave your children at home.  Please also leave your pets at home.   A beer festival is no place for Fido!

Will there be food available?  Food trucks will be available on site. For more information, please check out our Fest of Ale Food Page

Where can I get the program? This year we've decided to go online with the Fest of Ale program.  In the past, we've thrown away 80%-90% of the programs left behind after the Fest, and rather than waste a lot of natural resources on paper programs, we've  You can also find a .pdf version of the program as we get closer to the event, but you can see last year's program at this link:
